Welcome to the stone sculpture section
This catalogue of stone sculpture from the mid 1990’s serves as an archive and a visual development of the design process and evolution. Early carved stone sculpture formed directly in the studio from experiences working on various conservation and restoration projects during the mid 1980’s to the late 1990’s A reflection on architectural elements influenced the design. A fusing of classical architectural details with contemporary artistic thinking formed the corner stone for the designs today.
My work explores organic elements and geometric structures. Experimenting with the fundamental’s of symmetry and proportion and how they interact with each other. Testing the principles positive and negative mass (space and solid) is part of the process.media.
