Carry Akroyd is a painter and printmaker whose images examine the relationship between humans, wildlife and landscape, but are just as much about colour and composition. Arable farmland and fenland bearing the landmarks of commerce have been a continuing source of inspiration. Her observations and interest in history, combined with a sympathetic connection to the nineteenth century poet John Clare, all contributed to her recently published book: ‘natures powers & spells, Landscape Change, John Clare and Me’ (Langford Press). Carry works as both a painter and a printmaker.
